About the SCI Protocol

The Secure Contract Interactions Protocol (SCI) enables dapp owners a way of managing a list of trusted contracts across the web3 ecosystem. By using the SCI Protocol they can avoid scams and malicious actors impersonating their domains and trying to steal from their end users.

Once the dapp owner has listed the trusted contracts in the protocol, the data becomes available in the the SCI Registry Smart Contract enabling an additional layer of security.

The SCI Snap is an additional layer of security that leverages the SCI Protocol and the dapp list of trusted contracts.

2. Using the SCI MetaMask Snap

Once the Snap has been installed and enabled, whenever you interact with any contract via a dapp you will find insights as to whether the owner of the dapp trusts the underlying contract.

The following video shows how POAP dapp (collectors.poap.xyz) has trusted the POAP Contract in the SCI protocol and how this information is displayed in the MetaMask SCI Snap.
